2008 Results January 12th -  We had the awards banquet for New River Saddle Club and Stephanie ended up 5th in her group getting a nice saddle blanket.  This award was an accumulation of points from riding both Jewel and Jet.  I ended up as reserve in my age group getting a nice buckle.  This was also points acquired from both Jet and Jewel. January 13th -  Not a bad day at SSC for Jet.  In barrels, Stephanie got a 20.233 and I got an 18.617 riding her as a non-point horse.  In poles, Stephanie got a 27.676 and I got a 24.617, again I rode her as a non-point run.  Stephanie also got an 11.039 in the Country Cowhorse. January 18th -  I decided to take Jet and Jewel to Horse Lovers tonight for the NCBRA Jackpot.  I had very litle time to warm up so it wasn't their best runs but good enough to win our entries back plus extra.  Jet got 1st in the 3D with a 19.1.  I did 2 Pole timeonlys with her.  She got a 25 something on the first one.  On the 2nd one she got a 23.74.  That was nice! February 3rd -  Jet did okay today with the PBRA.  She had a bit of a tude.  Her poles for me were both in the 25's.  Steph had a NT from a crossed timer then a 28 something.  The barrels were a bit better.  I only ran one getting a 17.679 but the pattern is smaller.  Said to be about 1 second faster so that puts her in a mid 18.  Steph did well with 3 runs being an 18.053, an 18.821 and another 18.  Not bad for little work these last two weeks.   Steph did get 3rd in the 4D for a little money. February 10th -  Jet did a fantastic job for Steph.  They got an 18.459 earning a 3rd place.  In the Tunnel Vision they got off to a "slow" start (so to speak..LOL) but once they got to running she did a 10.103 for a 2nd.  They did ok in the Poles but only got a 29 something with no placing.  They came back for the Big "H" getting a 24.941 for another 3rd.  They ended up with their first "official" Reserve HiPoint trophy.  She's won reserve ribbons but not a trophy on Jet til today.  Oh, did I mention there were 25 riders in her class.  Whew!  What an accomplishment.  They also ended up 2nd in the 4th division for the speed horse event.  I did a time only for poles getting a 23.4 which is her fastest time to date.  She had her issues during the day, but came thru in the end!  I hope this trend keeps up. February 16th -  Today we went to New River.  Steph went ahead and rode all 4 events but I felt she should've just done the two.  I rode Jet in just barrels and poles.  For barrels we got an 18.575 but she dropped her nose into the first barrel and tipped it for a penalty.  For poles she smoked them with a 23.311 but was just a tad too close as me knee took the brunt of one pole for a penalty.  They both were still awesome runs as far as I'm concerned.  Steph and her did very well too.  Barrels was an 18.795 for a 2nd and a 25.579 in Poles.  They were actually 5th fastest of the day out of 64 runs.  She was ok in the last two events but I just don't think that Jet likes the other events.  This is sill up for discussion. March 2nd -  Today We spent the day riding at Empty Acres with the PBRA.  Steph and Jet did pretty well.  In her first Poles they didn't have a good first pass on weaving so they were a 30.???  I decided to pay for a time only for her and we put Jets old bit on because I think that she's too heavy with her hands at times.  It was her fastest time, so far.....25.211.  So, she will use this for Poles.  She got an 18.969 for her progressive Barrel run and she carried that time to the 4D which put her first in the 4D.  I also, rode Jet in Barrels and Poles.  Our Pole run was a 24.965 and the 2 barrel runs were an 18.118 and an 18.158.  Not bad. March 16th-  Not a bad day at SSC.  Steph got an 18.988 in Barrels and a 26.912 in Poles.  I got an 18.367 in Barrels on her and a 24.532 in Poles.
